Early Years Foundation Stage Consultant

Celsian Education are assisting a borough in south London recruit a suitably qualified person that can promote the development of the EYFS Strategy throughout the borough.

The main purpose of the role is: -

• To support the development, implementation and quality assurance of the Early Years Foundation Stage across the Early Years and Childcare Sector, including maintained and non-maintained settings, in collaboration with key partners, in particular linking closely with the National Primary Strategy.

• To ensure that the boroughs policy to improve the quality of early years provision for children aged 0-5 is effectively implemented in maintained, private, voluntary and independent settings (PVI).

• To support the development of strong, forward thinking partnership arrangements with external bodies from the public and private sector locally, regionally and nationally to engage others in supporting, improving and sustaining quality early years practice which impacts positively for young children and families.

You will need to possess:- 

Relevant qualified teacher qualification, e.g. QTS, Early Year’s Professional Status, graduate level qualification plus a commitment to on-going professional development.

A demonstrable, successful track record in the field of early education and care, quality improvement, curriculum innovation and performance management.

Excellent understanding of the Childcare Act 2006, Every Child Matters, Early Years Foundation Stage and other associated legislation.

Experience in supporting a range of early years and childcare settings to raise quality and ensure positive outcomes for children.

Excellent understanding of issues associated with delivering quality, accessible early years and childcare.

Excellent understanding of the regulatory role of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
